As BDM Logistics continues to expand its capabilities, the opening of the new Nottingham facility marks a major milestone — not just in capacity, but in people. At the heart of the site is Alex Yorke, General Manager – Nottingham, who joined BDM ten months ago and has been leading the operation since March.
Alex is responsible for the day-to-day running of the facility, from budgeting and client support to building the foundations of a high-performing team. Internally, he’s known for building and developing partnerships — a quality that feels especially relevant as the site scales up and welcomes new brands.
What excites him most about the role is the rare opportunity to shape something from the ground up. “The opportunity to start a role at the beginning of a new building fit-out was something not many in operations get the privilege to do. Now it’s about transferring our client-first culture from London whilst maintaining the high standards that are such a running theme across the building design.”
That balance — culture and consistency — is central to how Nottingham fits into the wider BDM network.
Alex is also keen to challenge assumptions about what great fulfilment really looks like. “High quality fulfilment isn’t just about moving orders seamlessly – it can be a competitive advantage when done with a true logistics partner.” With BDM’s deep specialism in beauty, he notes how early collaboration can shape smarter outcomes, from packaging design to meeting rising delivery expectations.
And when peak season hits? Motivation is collective. “Seeing a highly successful promotion or newly launched products flying out of our building is as exciting for us as it is for our clients,” he says — a shared momentum that pushes the whole team to raise their game.
As Nottingham comes fully online, it’s clear this expansion is about more than square footage. It’s about people, pride in delivery, and building long-term partnerships the right way.
