Logistics is no longer backstage – it’s centre stage
  • BDM Logistics has accelerated its Nottingham fulfilment hub from launch to optimisation, nearly doubling operational capacity and positioning the site to support premium beauty and fragrance brands planning for 2026 growth.
  • The expansion signals a wider industry shift, with beauty brands treating fulfilment as a strategic, brand-protective function rather than a reactive service — particularly critical during peak periods.
  • BDM’s focus is on readiness over rapid scale, combining early investment, specialist teams and controlled workflows to ensure accuracy, resilience and consistent brand experience as client volumes grow.

London/Nottingham, 9 January 2026 – BDM Logistics has confirmed a significant post-launch scale-up of its Nottingham fulfilment hub, reinforcing the company’s readiness to support premium beauty and fragrance brands as they plan for growth in 2026 and beyond.

Following the successful opening of the facility earlier this year, BDM has moved swiftly from launch to optimisation, expanding operational capacity, refining workflows, and strengthening on-site leadership. The move reflects a broader shift in how beauty brands are approaching fulfilment: no longer as a reactive function, but as a strategic pillar that must be resilient, scalable and brand-protective well ahead of peak demand.

From launch to long-term readiness

The Nottingham site almost doubles BDM’s overall operational footprint and has been purpose-designed to handle the complexity of modern beauty logistics — from fast-moving e-commerce orders to high-value, security-sensitive prestige goods. With 2026 forecasting already underway for many brands, the facility is now fully positioned to onboard new clients without compromising service levels.

Charles Kessler, Chairman of BDM Logistics, said the focus is firmly on preparedness rather than short-term growth headlines.

“The real story here is readiness,” said Kessler. “We’ve invested ahead of demand, not in response to it. Nottingham gives us the space, the systems and the people to support clients think long-term — brands that want confidence their fulfilment partner can always scale with them, maintain accuracy under pressure, and protect brand integrity.”

Rather than chasing volume alone, BDM’s expansion has centred on operational discipline: enhanced capacity planning, refined quality controls, and teams trained specifically around the needs of premium beauty and fragrance brands. This approach reflects growing industry awareness that fulfilment failures — particularly during peak periods — carry reputational risks that extend far beyond delayed deliveries.

Leadership on the ground, capability by design

Leading the Nottingham operation is General Manager Alex Yorke, who has been tasked with embedding BDM’s service ethos into the new facility while building a site capable of handling increased complexity and throughput.

“What’s exciting about Nottingham is that we’re not just filling space — we’re building capability,” said Yorke. “From day one, the focus has been on creating an operation that’s calm, controlled and scalable. That gives clients confidence that as their volumes grow, the experience for their customers doesn’t change.”

Yorke added that the site has been structured to allow phased growth, enabling BDM to absorb new business smoothly while maintaining the high service standards the company is known for.

For the beauty industry, the story goes beyond square footage or capacity figures. BDM’s Nottingham scale-up highlights a wider industry shift: beauty brands are increasingly securing fulfilment partnerships earlier in their growth cycle, prioritising operational resilience well before market pressure hits. In a sector where brand perception is shaped at the delivery stage, logistics is no longer backstage — it’s centre stage.

As 2026 approaches, BDM Logistics enters the year not in transition, but in a position of quiet confidence — operationally ready, strategically aligned, and firmly focused on supporting the next phase of growth for prestige beauty brands.
